Russian-US cultural ties have been getting back on track lately, and not just formally. Russia and the US have been carrying out quite a few joint cultural projects. We have told you recently about the first night of the US film “Forty Shades of Blue”, starring the prominent Russian actress Dina Korzun. “Treasure Raiders” is another Russian-American project.

The movie is produced by the Russian film company “Tsar”, specializing in the production of feature films and documentaries starring Hollywood actors. To make the movie, the company has invited both US actors and a US film director. The film makers say they will come up with an impressive super action film with extraordinary stunts and special effects. The audiences will enjoy effective hand-to-hand fights and chases.

The idea of the film came about rather unexpectedly. “Treasure Raiders” is more than just action. Shootouts, fist-fighting and chasing are the background for the main story-line, hunting for treasures by the two main characters. The film is a blend of many genres. The film director is the US actor and director Brant Huff, who was not a random choice because the producers looked for someone who could film both drama and action equally well. It will be for the first time that Brant Huff has been shooting in Russia and filming an international team of actors at that.

The prominent US actor David Carradine will play one of the main parts. David is not only an actor, but also a musician, sculptor, oriental martial art fighter and the author of six books.

“Actually, in the film Moscow will play a role of its own, the city will not just serve as a film locale,” David Carradine told our correspondent of his impressions about the Russian capital. “There is something of Paris, of London and of Las Vegas in Moscow, also there are sights that are distant history come alive. The film company “Tsar” wants to showcase the world a true Moscow, a city that is well known to Russians, but only little to foreigners.”
